Mr. Rice received his Juris Doctorate in 1996 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, California. He received Dean's List honors in Academic Years 1994-95, and 1995-96. Mr. Rice was also an editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, a member of the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and the Phi Delta Phi Law Honor Society. His article, "Reconsidering the Propensity Rule in Spousal Homicide Cases: The People v. O.J. Simpson." was published in Volume 29, issue 2 of Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review at 939.

Mr. Rice received B.A. degrees in 1993 from the University of California, Santa Barbara in English and Political Science with an International Relations Emphasis.

Mr. Rice is also an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix and an attorney advisor to the Amador Valley Mock Trial Team.
